I am a bad person, and my internet still sucks.

~Mystic-Meg misses her turn and recieves a card in penalty. That makes it ~Squizzle's turn.

August 29, 2006
Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one adding to the story.

~Kharadin misses is turn, is declared asleep for a second time and will recieve a new card.

Toss-In Chapter 17 is up and interruptible. And it is now ~Mystic-Meg's turn.

August 26, 2006
Hrm, are we bored, or busy?

~three-planes misses his turn and is declared asleep for the second time. He will recieve a card in penalty.

Chapter 16 is still interruptible, and it is now ~Kharadin's turn.

August 23, 2006
~Squizzle misses her turn and is declared asleep, she will recieve a card in penalty.

A passed and missed turn calls for a chapter toss-in. Chapter 16 is that toss-in. The card used is burned.

Chapter 16 is interruptible, and it is now ~three-planes's turn.

August 20, 2006
~Mystic-Meg passes and discards 'lion', the card is burned and she recieves a replacement.

It now becomes ~Squizzle's turn.

Chapter 15 is interruptible.

August 17, 2006
A) My Internet connection sucks.
B) I should start checking both of my accounts before I post updates.

~Mystic-Meg sent the chapter within the time limit to my personal account, which is fine, i just forgot to check.

The card originally given in penalty is burned as well as 'lips', and she receives an ale for tying off the loose end 'necklace'. It remains Meg's turn.

Chapter 15 is interruptible.

August 17, 2006
Three days pass and ~Mystic-Meg's turn expires. She will recieve a card.

Chapter 14 is interruptible, the loose ends are listed below. It is now ~Squizzle's turn.

August 14, 2006
OH NO! ~Kharadin misses his turn and recieves a new card. Two turns missed calls for a toss-in, Chapter 14. The card used, 'breath', is burned and the barkeep gets a new card keeping his total at 4.

Chapter 14 is interruptible, the loose ends are listed below. It is now ~Mystic-Meg's turn.

August 11, 2006
After three days, ~three-planes hasn't submitted a chapter. He recieves a card, and it becomes ~Kharadin's turn.

August 7, 2006
Chapter 13 is up and interruptible. ~three-planes submission is accepted and the 'dam' card is burned.

It remains ~three-planes turn.

August 3, 2006
~Squizzle has decided to pass and would like to discard muffin. I'm going to eat it before it goes bad, and give her a new card. It is now ~three-planes' turn.

Chapter 12 is interruptible. Loose ends are listed below.

August 2, 2006
Chapter 12 is up! ~Mystic-Meg passes, discarding the unusable girraffe. She recieves a new card.

Two Passes in a row call for a toss-in, which i gave you using my 'insects' card (it is burned and i recieve a new one). It is the current interruptable piece.

It is now ~Squizzle's turn.

July 31, 2006
~Kharadin is passing, burning cigarette. He recieves a new card and it becomes ~Mystic-Meg's turn.

~three-planes submission attempt is still interruptible.

July 29, 2006
I feel like a bad person. But the submission using 'fear' by ~three-planes is denied. The bard does not sufficiently provide information that Sheylanda is scared or feels fear in any way. The actual use of the word 'fear' or 'scared' or even 'dread' would have made the submission acceptable.

'Fear' is burned, and :devthreeplanes: recieves two new cards.
The play attempt is interrubtable [link]
'Symbol' and 'Necklace' are loose ends
It is ~Kharadin's turn.

Edit: My brain went wonky and I added 3 days to the last 'Turn End' date, giving ~Kharadin more time than allowed. The date is now fixed.

July 27, 2006
Hello Again! ~Squizzle passes her turn, discarding 'moat'. The card is burned and she recieves a new one.

Two passes in a row mean a toss-in, which is provided in chapter 11 using the card 'window'. That card is also burned and the barkeep recieves a new card.

It is now ~three-planes turn. Chapter 11 is interruptable; Symbol and Necklace are loose ends.

July 23, 2006
I stayed away for a long time again, I'm sorry, had to go home for the weekend. ~Mystic-Meg is passing and discarding 'market'. Meg will recieve a new card and it becomes ~Squizzle's turn.

See you all soon!

July 19, 2006
Ahh, I'm enjoying the speedy returns on these plays. ~Mystic-Meg turns in her first chapter incorporating Necklace well. Very little is learned however and the card becomes a loose end.

I currently see many possible future chapters and look forward to seeing what we can make out of this story.

It is still meg's turn; Chapter 10 is interruptable; symbol and necklace are loose ends.

July 18, 2006
~Kharadin passes and taked the opportunity to burn 'stew'. He recieves a new card and it becomes ~Mystic-Meg's turn.

Chapter 09 is still available for interruption. Symbol remains a loose end.

July 17, 2006
Sorry for the delay. ~three-planes remains asleep, missing his turn. He will receive a card.

Two consecutive turns have been passed or missed, and a Toss-In has been added. The barkeep's card INK is burned and he will recieve a new one.

It is now ~Kharadin's turn.

The Toss in chapter is now interruptable should anyone find a reason. remember to include the card of yours i used, the line in which i used it, and if needed an explanation of how i used your card.

July 10, 2006
~Squizzle has decided to pass, and wishes to burn 'cat'. I say it is inhumane, but it shall be done. *moment of silence please*

She recieves a new card, and it becomes ~three-planes turn. Should ~three-planes pass or fail to wake up within his three day time limit, a toss in chapter will be added before play resumes with the next person.

Symbol remains a loose end.

July 10, 2006
~Mystic-Meg joins the table, recieving 7 cards. Welcome Meg!

It is still ~Squizzle's turn. Since I forgot to update the turn expiration, and the last edit was on the 8th, ~Squizzle has until the midnight hour of the 11th (tomorrow); Unless someone finds an interrupt opportunity in ~Kharadin's last submission. (check scraps)

Symbol remains a loose end.

July 8, 2006
Another beautiful submission from ~Kharadin with the Lord card. Unfortunately, the chapter is denied. The card was only mentioned. It should be noted that were the submission accepted, it would have cleared up the symbol loose end.

it is insufficient simply to discuss an item (it must be present), to mention the possibility of an event (it must take place), or to have a character talk about another character in dialogue (he must actually be introduced.) In any case, the Barkeep's reply is final.

~Kharadin recieves one card to replace the card used, and one in penalty. ~three-planes attempted an interruption, and would receive a card, but I am instead using the opportunity to educate you on interruptions.

I also need to address the Interruption process. If another bard uses, in any way, one of your cards, you must send me a note telling me what card they used, and justify it. Most interruptions will be obvious, having actually used the word on your card.
in the note, the subject should be - Interruption, and the body should read Card: [name] use: [quote passage]
explanation: if you feel neccessary

the lord card is burned, and it becomes ~Squizzle's turn.
Symbol remains a loose end.

July 6, 2006
Chapter 08 is up! ~Kharadin uses parchment, and it is burned. It remains his turn. You guys should watch out for interrupt opportunities or ~Kharadin will finish win this story in no time.

Symbol remains a loose end.

July 01, 2006
~Kharadin captures beautiful imagery in chapter 07. The card 'angel' is burned, and it remains his turn.

Symbol remains a loose end.

June 29, 2006
And this story now has it's first loose end! ~Kharadin submits a chapter using his symbol card. (hey look, I got it right this time!) It remains ~Kharadin's turn.

June 25, 2006
~three-planes falls asleep again, and will recieve a card. It is now ~Kharadin's turn.

June 21, 2006
More Questions to be answered thanks to chapter five. ~three-planes gives home to 7 mysterious figures with 'ship'. The card is burned, and it remains his turn.

June 20, 2006
"Why must there always be a scary trench?"

~three-planes sets aside my worries that I would be writing the entire story; waking up to submit Chapter four. The card 'roof' is burned, and it remains ~three-planes's turn.

June 19, 2006
~Squizzle passes, discarding flame, and recieving a new card.

Since that is two consecutive turns without a chapter, I have added a Toss-in Chapter using one of my cards; 'goblet' (barkeep always has 4 cards). The card is burned and it is now ~three-planes's turn.

June 16, 2006
:devkharradin: passed just within the time limit, and he wants to get rid of her cheese card. ~Kharadin will recieve a new card, and it will become ~Squizzle's turn.

[edit] Sorry, i seemed to have taken ~Kharadin's manhood away again. had to fix. thanks for pointing that out Squiz!

June 13, 2006
~three-planes seems to have fallen asleep and missed his turn, he will receive a card in penalty.

Since that is two consecutive turns without a chapter, I have added a Toss-in Chapter using one of my cards 'light' (barkeep always has 4 cards). The card is burned and it is now ~Kharadin's turn.

June 9, 2006
Squizzle has decided to pass, discarding the 'hearth' card. She recieves a new card and it becomes ~three-planes turn.

I will be out of town until monday evening, so the next update will not take place until then. However, the three day per turn rule still applies.

Good luck, and I'll see you guys next week!

June 6, 2006
Okay, we have the first chapter of the story up! In Chapter 01 squizzle successfully used the card mermaid and it gets burned.

It will remain ~Squizzle's turn with a three day time limit. The next chapter will not be posted for 24 hours to allow the other players to read and examine the chapter for interrupt opportunities. So don't rush yourself Squiz!

June 5, 2006
Okay, We've got three players, I'm going to send out new cards. Please 'burn' the cards you have left from the previous round. Since Kharadin has the least cards from that game, Kharadin has the first option of finishing the old story.

In the new story, I mentioned a new twist, and that is myself holding 4 cards to keep the story moving in the event that two bards miss or pass their turns. I will not be winning since i will always hold 4 cards.

Lets Go!

EDIT: I forgot to officially state that it was ~Squizzle's turn, but we have spoken and the game is on. We await the first chapter of the new story.

June 5, 2006
Okay, now that i can once again spend some time on DA, i was curious to find out if any of you wanted to continue the story?

If so, I would like to throw up a chapter myself and then continue in rotation where we left off.

I want at least 3 takers before I go. If you have any other suggestions, please make them.

I look forward to seeing this up and running again.

:PS: If no one wants to continue the old story, but wishes instead to start over I would like to propose a twist. I want to be able to hold cards. Always a set of four, no matter what. I would wirte a chapter anytime 2 players pass, or miss a turn. The chapters would not be debatable, but accepted immediately. This would help the story move, My chapters could tie up loose ends, making it easier for you guys to win, but could also possibly create a few.

Like I said, make suggestions!

Thanks
Ace

We've got three players ready to go! Squizzle responded first and gets the honor of the next play attempt. She also decided to burn cat - bad Squiz!

Anywhat - lets get things going! Don't forget to get your card choice in to me before midnight on thanksgiving day.

November 18, 2005
And we are back! I wasn't gone as long as planned. Are we ready to get things started again?

I mentioned a card bonfire - ~Kharadin has burned apology, and *FaluuVaud is roasting sticky like a marshmallow. I will let the fire burn until Thanksgiving Day, after which the bards with full bladders will be allowed to pee on it. So be sure to turn in the card you want burned before then.

I know that when I left I suggested that we would resume play with *FaluuVaud, but after some thinking - I find it a bit unfair to give Faluu all that time to sit on a play. Thus the new solution.

I need 3 of the current bards to send me a note before I start the game back up. The first message sender will get the next play attempt.

Hope you guys are ready to get this story going again!

Break Time!

I just accepted a job that will take me to Florida for 3-6 weeks. I will be living out of a suitcase the entire time, and will be without internet access. This means that I will have to close Ye Olde Rusty Lantern for holiday.

Since it is a holiday, I will give you a present. Everyone is allowed to burn one of their cards. Let me know which card you wish to burn, and when I return, We will have a card bonfire.

I do not know when I will be back, but play will resume with *FaluuVaud when I return.

I hope you all have a great month.

October 31, 2005
With such a nice rythm, it is a shame to have to deny ~Kharadin's most recent play attempt with faint.

The play of "faint" is rejected, because only the possibility of fainting is mentioned, but no fainting actually occurs. The card is burned, and ~Kharadin will receive two cards to replace it.

It is now *FaluuVaud's play.

October 31, 2005
~three-planes makes no contact for over 3 days, and is considered asleep. 'E will recieve a card, and it will become ~Kharadin's turn.

:skull: Also, Happy Halloween! :skull:

October 27, 2005
~Squizzle passes discarding monkey. She recieves a new card, and it becomes ~three-planes turn.

October 25, 2005
~Culturalrider falls asleep his first day on the job - he will recieve a card.

It is now ~Squizzle's turn.

October 21, 2005
*PSOWILL misses his first turn and is declared asleep. 'E will recieve a card.

Play continues around the table to ~Culturalrider.

October 18, 2005
The 72 hour window for submitting a play has passed. *FaluuVaud is declared asleep and will recieve a card.

Play now passes to *PSOWILL.

October 15, 2005
Ironically enough, *FaluuVaud makes an early play using the late card, and it is burned. The play becomes Chapter 18.

The play is questionable, but acceptable, and raises a few length concerns. But those concerns won't be off big issue until we start a new story.

It remains *FaluuVaud's turn.

October 14, 2005
~Kharadin uses the last of his cards with a huge Jump. The play becomes chapter 17, and ties up the loose end learn. Both jump and learn are burned.

I want to remind you that in order to win you must meet all of the quidelines.

A Bard wins when all of the following are true: e has no cards, e was the last to make a successful play, there are no Loose Ends, and there are no unprocessed Interrupts. If the story isn't quite "done" yet, the winning Bard may finish it however e pleases. Once that's done, the tale ends.

Since ~Kharadin is out of cards, but there are still loose ends remaining, he recieves a card, and forfiets his turn. It is now *FaluuVaud's turn.

Also, welcome to our newest bard - ~Culturalrider. ~Kharadin also asked about an upper limit on word counts: the limit I am going to impose is 150 - 450 words.

October 12, 2005
~Kharadin continues to fly through his cards. Carving takes its rightful spot as chapter 16, and the card is burned. It will remain ~Kharadin%
